To support the restoration of Gadsby's Ice Well, GTMS is sponsoring a
very special raffle. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the Museum
or through the
Ice Well Committee. Hand sculpted clay features, finished with a unique process developed by Susan, are attached to a soft linen body over a wire armature. The hand sewn garments and accessories, unique to this figure, were created using draping and construction techniques found on full-size items made during the 18th century. The embroidered silk taffeta pannier gown, accessorized with an antique lace apron and cap covering a hand-dyed mohair wig, is worn over an antique lawn shift. The painted wooden display case, similar to one in the Metropolitan Museum of Art collection, presents a child's most cherished possession. This case can be displayed on a flat surface or hung on the wall. The figure is removable; however, it is designed to remain in a stationary position and is for display only.
Tickets: $10 each or 6 for $50 You can see the Grand Prize and purchase tickets for the raffle at the Gadsby's Tavern Museum Shop. For tickets by mail or more information contact Jeanne at raffle@gadsbystavernmuseum.us GTMS Home | Raffle | 2nd Prize | 3rd Prize | La Fête de Lafayette |
