GTMS Members prepare to march in the 2002 George
Washington's Birthday Parade
(Are we the world's only Marching
Museum?) |
GTMS members may help staff Museum sponsored events often in 18th Century
costume.
--Some act as servants at the children's teas and hosts during
candlelight tours.
Many members volunteer at the Museum as tour guides and aids.
-- Others find Society membership a great way to support Museum programs
and contributions to the community.
Some support the Museum with their GTMS membership but
cannot participate in any of our events.
-- Others take part in several Society events designed to
- Raise funds for Museum preservation and additions to the collections
- Introduce more of the community to the Museum
- Have fun -- in or out of costume
|
For more on upcoming events see the
Museum's Calendar. Visit
our Photo Galleries to see GTMS members in action.
About our costumes: Although many GTMS members have their own 18th Century costumes, others
borrow appropriate attire from the Museum when they are attending Museum
events.
JOIN US!
While some
members participate in several Society events each year, others support
the Museum through their Society membership but can’t regularly
participate. If you would like to join us in either
capacity, go to the
Membership Form or to the Museum's
On-line Shop or any
GTMS Board Member. For more information
about the workings of the Society, see the Members
Info page.
