GTMS SPEAKERS BUREAU:

Women and Work in the 17th and 18th Centuries

What images come to mind when you think of women in colonial America?  Do you think only 20th century women have found opportunity in the workplace?

Discover for yourself the many roles (some quite surprising) women played in the early days of survival and commerce in colonial America.  Many survived several husbands and bore many children while managing their own businesses.  Today's American women can look to this era for roots of the entrepreneurial ethic.  Audience members with their modern concepts help bring the topic to life.
